“I am Geisha…” – Anara Sara
Anara Sara christened Annalise Rhoades was born and raised in Zimbabwe.
Art is always part of her life. Music is her friend. Dance, drama, drawing, tailoring, painting and poetry are all a method of expression to her. She wrote her first song at the age of 12 and participated in high school plays, talent shows and was a member of the Girl’s College Bulawayo Choir.
She emigrated to the United Kingdom (England) in her late teens. In 2004 at Chessington Community College London she recorded her first track. She moved to Birmingham in 2005 and took a break from music for personal development. She approached the Birmingham music scene as “a rose by any other name”* in 2010.
Since then she has been working with several Birmingham Producers including Redstaar, Bambino, Deci4Life, Danny Boom, DJ Sparks, Cipher MD7 and Urban Monk. She has also collaborated with a few local Birmingham Artists including T.E.R.O, Kiki, Christoff Jennings, Gidz, Ace, DaConscious1, Skyla Versatile and a couple of others.
She has performed, on the Birmingham Scene, at The Birmingham Town Hall, The O2 Academy, The Birmingham Library Theatre, The Mac, The Drum, The Rainbow, The YardBird, Island Bar, Vertu Bar, ACS Vocal Academy, O’Velvet, The Edgbastion Tap. She has also performed in London, Oxford, Manchester and Stoke-On-Trent and intends to continue adding to the list.
She is a free spirit with passionate views and beliefs. Sticking to no particular style she views music as her canvas. What better way for someone with an intense love for art? This is the start of a new adventure, one young woman’s dream.
Do you want to see a dream come true?
